I don't blame the people in the store -- I blame the supervisors for not providing enough employees or a tolerable phone system.
Since I can make an appointment for an exam online, I will definitely go back for that. But not for anything else.
My experience here was very positive. The staff was friendly and helpful. If you're unsure about going because of some negative reviews, you should just go. Everyone has a different experience everywhere.
I had the BEST eye exam here. I wear contact lenses and wound up with a prescription for lower power AND correction for astigmatism. When it comes to sticking my face in the machines to look inside, my reflexes take over but the tech was really patient with me.
First time prescription. Their customer service was great. Found Oakleys I liked but I shopped around at numerous stores and couldn't find any frames I liked. Went back there and placed the order. They said it would be two weeks. I was ok with that. They arrived in 4 days. The glasses seem good so far. Just need to get used to them.
So I waited. And waited. No nice music. No recording to say they'd be with me shortly. No way to actually know the connection hadn't be "lost."
HOWEVER, when I called a few months later to order more lenses the wait seemed interminable. I finally hung up and went to the store, where I still had to wait.
Untrustworthy, money huungry office. Made an apt for contact lens fitting. Had 4 follow up apts afterwards and was told it's $20 for all follow ups. On the 4th one I was told I wasn't going to get a contact script. I asked for my money back for the contact lens fitting. They then charged me for each apt afterwards so they wouldn't have to give me a refund. They're excuse, I need to pay my doctors. It was a disgusting and untrustworthy experience. They knew from the first apt they didn't think contacts were best for me because it was in the notes from the first doctor, but they just wanted extra money. Save yourself the time and literally go to any other optomotrist.
Oh, I went online and ordered from 1800contacts. Cheaper.
This is the first place I think to go to for eye care. They seem to always be busy but go the extra mile to make each person who walks through the door feel like welcome. I especially appreciate how they take the time to answer all my questions with thoughtful answers.
Being a glutton for punishment, I called yesterday for more lenses. Whoever answered said "Can you hold moment," which happens almost anywhere I call. I said, lightly I thought, "Yes, for just a moment," and I got an explanation of how busy they were -- juggling appointments and helping people in the store.
Funny thing is, when I call someone, I just never assume they were sitting around waiting for me to call. I thought the explanation was over the top and if they were so busy it just used up time that could have been used more productively.
