2) serpentine belt (the belt is fine and he quoted $53.43 when they cost $15 at any auto store)
1) Replace All Spark Plugs - I did this when I bought the Jeep over the summer. They don't need replacing. They also recommended a new ignition coil pack for $117.44 which is unnecessary.
Some of the repairs he recommended on his printout were already performed in August 2015 when the car was given a clean bill of health by passing the NY state inspection. He recommended a new water pump. The quote had labor of 2.20 hours, or $198 of labor, when this job takes a skilled mechanic at most 1 hour to perform.
Pete recommended pricey repairs and a "full tune up with fresh oil". My car sat there Thursday afternoon, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (which doesn't count because they aren't open on Sundays). When I went in on Monday, none of the repairs I wanted and for which I already bought the parts for, were performed. Pete had a lengthy list of repairs that were all "important". He even told me, as if looking out for my safety, "I wouldn't even drive that thing off the lot".
All of these reviews must be from people they know.
Absolutely trustworthy. Never trying to sell unnecessary parts or services. I drive way out of my way to take my car here and will continue. Always has my vehicle repaired in a reasonable time. Highly recommend!
Love this place ! Been bringing our vehicles there for many years. Honest, trustworthy, always friendly :)
I thought I'd throw some business to a local, family-owned and operated business, but it seems they just don't operate on family values anymore. I would NEVER recommend this place. They'll take you for a fool and go for your whole wallet. The excessive markup on parts and recommendations for repairs that are unnecessary are purely fueled by greed - that's all I can say about that. Hopefully they'll see the error in their ways and become honest.
4) New rotors for the vehicle at $45.82 each. The price on the rotors is fair, if they were going to put on Premium coated rotors which would normally cost $35 from an auto parts store. The rotors are in great condition and do not need replacing though.
Have been a customer for years. Hands down the best techs, and customer service found anywhere else. Knowledgeable, and always fair with customers. If you need service either new or old cars, don't give anyone else your money always go to see the boys!
The following suggested repairs were either outrageously over-quoted, or outright unnecessary:
5) Pete also recommended an oil change which is interesting because I performed an oil change less than a month ago with full synthetic Mobil1 oil as well as a premium oil filter.
Best Work done ever Family run Honest and friendly ,never go anywhere else not even to a dealer
3) Throttle position sensor - I bought one for $22 as opposed to paying them $59.65 for the part and $45 for labor. This job takes a monkey 10 - 15 minutes.
I must have had idiot written on my forehead that day for him to even attempt charging for 'Gravy Jobs' - easy jobs mechanics charge a lot for.
